 We saw a sign in a local pet shop window about eight years ago that read, "Free Beagle." Of course, we were curious.
The puppy led out from the back room was crippled, her front legs nearly flat to the floor from the elbow joint down. That puppy turned out to be our Aunt Betty Beagle. |
 Someone had dropped this baby beagle and broken her front legs, but never brought her to a vet. Timely medical attention would have made all the difference, but instead her legs healed poorly and there was nothing that could be done to fix her legs, an orthopedic surgeon advised us. Her legs were held together with scar tissue, plain and simple
She was frightened. For about a year after we rescued her, she acted very paranoid and had to be rocked to sleep in someone?s arms -- most often Cliffs.
She came out the other side thanks to much loving attention -- same as our dog,  Bryan Haris -- as well as a healthy diet, homeopathics for pain, essential fatty acids and Arthrisoothe Gold liquid which not only helped ease her pain, but also rebuilt the cartilage and strengthened the ligaments and tendons in her fragile legs.
Betty knew she was safe. She knew she wouldn't be hurt again or abandoned. She knew she was loved, loved, loved.
In addition to her disability, she also suffered from digestive issues, and had anal gland and constipation problems. We switched her to Dr. Harvey's Canine Health Pre-Mix. Filled with every vegetable, grain and herb imaginable, it's so tasty, she gobbles it down and consequently has a new lease on life.  There's a spring to her step, a gleam in her eye and her coat is rivaled by none. It was so good, all our dogs now eat it, with the exception of Lucy Sunspun who continues on her grain-free diet on which she, too, has flourished.
Needless to say, not only is Aunt Betty better, but all of our lives are six hundred percent better because of our Aunt Bea |
