"Bama's Healing Crisis"

 When my dog, Alabama was five years old, several veterinarians told me to put her to sleep, but I refused.
For years, Bama had suffered from terrible skin allergies. She would alarmingly tear her fur out in bloody clumps. Antibiotics and cortisone shots had ceased to suppress her itchy symptoms, and, in fact, over time, these medications had shut down her immune system to the point where her body was unable to fight infection. The "hot spots" had gotten the best of her. |
I soon discovered the cause of her symptoms. It seems Bama was allergic to her food. After switching her to Innova, a natural dog kibble, her symptoms gradually disappeared after an intense "healing crisis", wherein her body purged itself of the toxins in her system. She regained her health and no longer suffered from skin allergies. As an added bonus, fleas were not a problem for her anymore and we found we did not have to use dangerous flea killing products in our home, yard or on her body.
We decided to start Bama's Natural Instinct because of her health experience. So, Bama, who passed away of natural causes in March, 2004, is not only our inspiration, she is also our boss. It is our intention that she will live on through the business and the animals we help achieve great health through proper nutrition. |
Here is a photo of Bama in October, 2000, just three months after her healing crisis. She was healthy, happy...and just look at that coat! Here she is ready for Halloween, wearing her jaunty holiday scarf. |
 Bama is survived by her family, Sophie, a black Cocker Spaniel, Bryan Haris, an Australian Kelpie, P.K., our four-year-old Golden, P.K's Mom, Lucy Sunspun, and, of course, our Aunt Betty the Beagle.
Our dogs' overall glowing health is due to good nutrition. Food is their medicine. It's as simple as that.
Bama's Natural Instinct is involved in dog rescue on a limited basis and has helped severely debilitated rescued dogs win back their health through natural food, healthy supplements and TLC. |
