 Why should I pay so much money to buy natural dog and cat foods when I can get a 50 lb. bag of "Good Enough" at the grocery store? |
| I tried natural food on my dog once before because he had such terrible skin problems. Fido did fine for about two weeks, and then his "itches" came back worse than ever, so I took him off the food and put him back on his old food. What happened? |

 The reason natural dog and cat foods cost more is because they are made from human grade foods -- NO "by-products" and a laundry list of chemicals in the foods we carry at "Bama's" carry! You pay more because you get more. Also, natural foods are more dense, so you will feed your pet less. You'll also spend less time (and money) at the vets office because your pet will be healthier from eating the natural foods. |
| Sounds like your dog was going through a "healing crisis". Simply put, Fido's body was purging itself of the chemicals and poor quality food he had been fed over the years. Sometimes when a pet (or person) starts eating high quality foods after having eaten the equivalent of "fast food" for many years, they feel worse, before they get better. Their body is "cleaning house". But remember, when in doubt, consult with your veterinarian! |
| As we said before, when in doubt, seek the advice of your veterinarian, who will be able to tell the difference. However, a healing crisis comes about when the body is made strong. The body must be strong enough to get through the crisis, as detox is a difficult process. You will notice in the days before a healing crisis that your dog or cat has tons of energy, feels better than they have in years, and then one day, they are lethargic. Their hot spots, skin allergies, or whatever ailed them in years past may come back for a short time, but, eventually, after the body has had a chance to rebuild itself, these symptoms will go away and the body will emerge from the detox stronger than ever! |
