"Meet our founder...and inspiration...Bama"

When Jackie first saw Sophie, she was standing on a street corner in Newark, New Jersey, shivering in the rain, getting ready to walk onto a busy highway. The Cocker Spaniel's coat was overgrown and water dripped in her eyes. She was little, jet black, gorgeous -- and very pregnant.

Too tiny for the five large puppies she was carrying, we believe she was used as a breeder dog. She was so small, there was no space in her tiny body because of the puppies, so, to cope she had to sit upright all the time even when she took cat naps. She could not manage to eat or drink very much for the same reason.

Jackie fed her small amounts of nutritious food and supplements by hand, both to nourish her back to health and to counteract the fears she had which gave her an edgy disposition. Sophie ultimately lost all the puppies.

Innova, frozen veggies, Rescue Remedy and Nupro began her health regime. Today she's a healthy and happy beauty who is still unique, likes her food spicey and is partial to mangos and Texas Pete's hot sauce. Go figure!

Since we first laid eyes on her, she has been our Sophie -- and still is. Sophie now spends her days playing with her toys, taking walks and meditating on the deck.
Meet the rest of Bama's Staff below, PK to the left, Bryan to the right and Lucy below them, Aunt Bea at the very bottom.

P.K. was a 7-week-old pup when we first welcomed her to our home. She is now a glowingly healthy adult since we were able to start with her health as a clean slate, feeding her healthy foods from the start and being prudent with her innoculations.

P.K. contracted Lyme Disease last year, however, we successfully treated it by following our traditional vet's advice by giving her antibiotics then complimented the antibiotic therapy with homeopathics and herbal remedies.

These days you can see P.K., Jackie and her doggies pals walking their two to three miles each day -- something that P.K. loves. "Puppy" as she is known to her friends and family is a caring animal with a tender heart who loves chewing on Jones "Bully Bones," or Free Range Braided Bully Sticks, sleepin' on the couch and keeping Bryan Haris' ear clean!

We call them the Golden Girls, but we could also say they're All in the Family! Lucy Sunspun and P.K. are mother an daughter, both from a farm in New Jersey.

Both dogs came to us laden with fleas and ticks, their ears and bodies ravaged by the pests.

Lucy Sunspun loves the entire breadstuffs category in the food pyramid. She can smell a muffin or bagel at fifty paces. Unfortunately, these foods do not love her. We discovered that she has an allergy to yeast and grains which manifested itself in horrible recurring ear infections.

Natural ear washes and grain free foods and snacks were the final answer to keeping her ear infections at bay, and today she is happy and healthy, loving her Squatters, regular gourmet meals and an air-conditioned lifestyle. Lucy's diet consists of Wellness Core Reduced Fat, Merrick's "BG" ("Before Grain") or Fromm's "Surf & Turf" grain-free dog kibble, fresh chicken, ground beef, or salmon and Grizzly Salmon Oil. We keep her ears clean as a whistle by claning them regularly with Naturvet's Ear Wash with Tea Tree Oil, or Ark Naurals' "Ears All Right." and today she is happy and healthy, loving her Squatters, regular gourmet meals and an air-conditioned lifestyle.

Jackie found Bryan when a man was driving him away from his Pit Bull with a baseball bat. (The man knocked his front teeth out.) She loaded him in the car and took this beautiful black and caramel colored Australian Kelpie home. That was seven years ago. So I guess we're keeping him!

Bryan had extreme anxiety attacks when he first came home and used to walk in circles on the deck when left outside. That led us to believe he'd been tied to a stake in his owners yard.

Over time, Bryan felt more secure because he knew we loved him. He still becomes anxious from time to time if he's left behind in some fashion, but Rescue Remedy helps and loving kisses always work! Bryan's favorite foods include frozen peas, green beans and Primal's Frozen diet nuggets.

And last but not least, Aunt Betty. Given her disability, she is truly a profile in courage.
